Tulip season

Updated: Apr 4

Tulip season has arrived—and we can’t wait to share it with you!

After a few years of trials, we are excited to open our farm for you-pick tulips. While you won’t find a full field of blooms just yet, we hope you'll enjoy this special opportunity to soak in the beauty of the season.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Grab a bucket

When you arrive, pick up a bucket and explore the tulip rows.

Step 2: Pick your tulips

Take your time and select your flowers for their color and how open they are. For extra vase life, select blooms that are still closed but just beginning to show their color.

To pick, reach down to the base and gently pull upward. Most tulips will come up with the bulb attached—that's part of the experience and completely encouraged! The longer stem gives you more flexibility when arranging. If a flower separates from the bulb, that’s perfectly fine too—enjoy it right away.

Step 3: Choose your finish

Once you’ve gathered your tulips, decide how you'd like to take them home. We're happy to wrap your bouquet for you, or you can take a little extra time to arrange them yourself for a more personalized touch.

There’s nothing quite like bringing home (or gifting) tulips you picked yourself—it's simple, thoughtful, and meaningful.

Pricing:

  • $2 per stem

  • $1 per stem for season pass holders

  • No minimum—pick as few or as many as you’d like

Tips for keeping your tulips fresh:

If you’re saving your tulips for later, choose flowers that are still closed, attached to the bulbs, and just beginning to show color. Wrap them in paper with the bulbs on and store them upright in a cool, dark place—a refrigerator works well (keep them away from produce).

You can also trim the stems and place them in water in the fridge if you’d prefer a ready-to-enjoy arrangement.

Wondering about the bulbs?

You’re welcome to take them home! While they may not bloom again next year, planting them can be a fun little project. You'll see green growth and eventually see blooms again, giving you a reminder of your time in the tulip field—and a promise of beauty to come.

If foliage remains attached to the bulb, plant it right away. If all foliage has been separated from the bulb, cure the bulb by laying them out in a dry place for 2 weeks, store the bulbs in the summer in a cool, dark place, and plant in the fall.

We can’t wait to welcome you. Come for the tulips, stay to connect, and leave with your hands full of color.

With heart,

Brad and Stacie- Your friends at the farm
